Code of Conduct

All Individual and Organisational Accredited Member
Websites agree to abide by this Code of Conduct

Why we have a Code in place

This Code of Conduct indicates the standards of professionalism we expect from all member websites. All members must strive for commitment to quality and good practice at all times.

This code sets out the trading standards we expect all members to adopt.

1. All member websites agree upon applying for accreditation that the Open College UK Ltd can suspend or terminate all membership and accreditation for infringement of any of these codes at any time.

2. All members understand that it is their website that is accredited by us ONLY and not the owner, webmasters, directors, (human beings) any staff member etc. No member may claim or imply in any way that they or their qualifications are 'personally' accredited by us. No member may use our name Open College UK Ltd in association with or claim or imply in any way that their product, training courses, personal qualifications, trade, experience and so on is accredited by us - Only the website. The Open College UK Ltd accredits the website itself and approves the service as suitable to trade with - nothing further than this. All members may state on site and in their literature that the Open College UK Ltd has approved their website and accredited it. The name Open College UK Ltd with the word accreditation must not be used any where else other than with reference to the member website.

3. All members are required give accurate, honest details of the service they provide.

4. All member websites should state their services clearly, in an understandable and easily accessible way for all site visitors.

5. Maintain customer satisfaction at all times by whatever means is needed.

6. All member websites have a formal customer complaints procedure in place.

7. Regularly reviewing the effectiveness of all services and implementing improvements based on any complaints that may arise.

8. Uphold the reputation of the Open College UK Ltd membership and website accreditation.

9. In all displays of the membership logo, all members shall agree that the logo should not be used in such a way that it implies accreditation of your organisation or of any training course or product that you provide. All accreditation is towards the members websites and not the owner of the site.

10. All members must place their accredited logo on their website home page. Once it is placed on the home page it may also be placed on other pages within the same site only as long as it appears on the main home page. The logo can only be used on the one members site unless other sites/mirrors are identical to one we have already approved.

11. Where the membership logo is used on a members website, it should be hyperlinked to the main Open College UK Ltd website link as listed here on the Members Page

13. All member websites must at all times conduct their professional activities with the propriety and dignity becoming of an honest and responsible service to the public.

14. All member websites must endeavour to keep their ‘customers' communications confidential, the law of the land not withstanding.

15. All member websites shall not link with, become or remain a member of any organisation that has been exposed to public scrutiny as dangerous or fraudulent or which in any way causes detriment to the Open College UK Ltd described herein.

16. All member websites agree to accept the authority of the Open College UK Ltd regarding any breach of the above Codes of Conduct.
